It's simple. You pick a website, plant some proxy mines on the website of your choice and send your friends a disguised link.
Built on the spirit of espionage and the nostalgia for this much-loved Nintendo title, proxymines.com is built to integrate with social media. In just three clicks, players can get their friends via a variety of social networks and can track their success using Facebook.
This project was as fun to sell through as it was to make. We had money left over from banners and really wanted to build this site for Activision so we developed a prototype to show them how it worked and then built the rest in 2 weeks. The biggest challenge was everyone who was working on this project was also sleeping at the office and working on Decode JAY-Z.
